The Perfect Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution According to Your Zodiac Sign
The return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread excitement across the fandom. From the gradual unveiling of newcomers before the title's release, to trainers developing strong views on the entire lineup of new Megas, there's plenty for fans to look forward to.
Given many of the Mega Evolutions showcasing unique designs that emphasize their personalities, one thought came to mind: What's the best way to link this with zodiac signs? This list is based on a mix of intuition, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndoom was nearly selected for this fire sign, as they are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that inspire the greatest apprehension. But, a Super Houndoom appears as always angry, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, renowned for being playful, light-hearted, and spontaneous. That's why the Ram much more similar to Mega Camerupt, which solely spews lava when angered. Remain on the friendly side of both and enjoy a powerful partner; if you cross them, be ready to face the consequences.
Taurus – Super Heracross
Similar to a loyal Taurus, the steadfast Heracross, whether in its standard and Super Form, has assisted numerous players in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, each the creature and a Bull are also Fighting types, and – be it their trainer or a strong opinion – will defend their side unwaveringly. The thing about Mega Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unabashed passion for treats. Many past official descriptions mention their fondness for sweet tree sap and how it uses its appendage to hoard it everything, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.
The Twins – Mega Medicham
Look at this absolute queen. It's impossible to tell me this creature is not the soul of every party, providing an constant fountain of chatter to anyone who wants to listen. Just like an enrapturing, sociable Twins, it's incredibly simple to imagine Super Medicham captivating an entire open area with their tales. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also states its capacity to predict an opponent's future actions, which sounds very similar to a socially-savvy Gemini.
The Crab – Super Manectric
The Crab is commonly regarded as the most sensitive sign of the astrological wheel, a passionate symbol famous for often getting wrapped up in their emotions. According to the official info, Super Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “huge amount of energy, but it's excessive for Manectric to fully manage,” which sounds a lot like a typical Cancer crash-out. This Pokémon is also recognized for its ability to create a thundercloud over its own self – and if there’s one thing a Crab is likely to do, it’s rain on their good time.
The Lion – Super Starmie
Well, did you assume I was going to select Pyroar for the lion of the zodiac? Besides the reality that it would be much too on the nose, Leo is obviously Super Starmie, the diva whose legs just went viral for being too fabulous (or horrifying, based on your preference). Fans couldn’t look away from the purple starfish, and that’s exactly the same energy a Leo brings to the table. Starmie is also rumored to be transmitting signals from its center out into space, and it’s typical of a Leo to be putting on a performance, albeit for extraterrestrials.
The Maiden – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Virgo is ideally encapsulated in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with constant acid reflux. The sign known for being endearingly judgmental is clearly mirrored across this Pokémon’s whole evolutionary chain, from a always surprised expression like a Maiden when you inform them you lack a retirement plan, to its upside-down visage that’s similar to the symbol a Virgo sends to the group chat when all says they want to “go with the flow” rather than making a plan.
Libra – Mega Audino
Observe this sweet, empathetic creature, who employs the feelers on its ears to detect how others are feeling by their pulse. Consistently empathetic – sometimes to a fault – and trying to maintain the harmony, there are many Scales who would likely appreciate Mega Audino’s abilities. However, to be frank, it would likely just cause them to worry even more about others.
The Scorpion – Super Banette
Banette is a Pokémon with a unexpectedly tragic origin: Abandoned as a toy, it gained sentient through sheer hatred and swore revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the official info, Mega Evolution, “enhances its vindictiveness.” That sounds precisely like many discussions I’ve had with my scary Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpion loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the perfect pair with Mega Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Both Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always staging a show. Being a Archer personally, the number of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “playful small entertainer” is innumerable. The showiest and most attention-seeking Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius counterpart I can think of.
The Goat – Super Absol
Did you know that a Mega Absol has the power to predict disasters ahead of time? That gives the identical vibe as a Goat, who often always believe they’re correct. The thing is, similar to a visionary Mega Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the very initial Mega Evolution that players meet in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to join the beginning of the Mega trend.
Aquarius – Mega Chandelure
Detached air sign Aquarius is arguably the non-fire placement that is closest to a flame symbol – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being chaotic accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s double Spirit/Flame category fits perfectly with this, and the Super Form's general daunting aura is also extremely Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet persuaded, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “absorbs negative energy and transforms it into strength.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
